2015 Delegation, Entry #9: 9/20/15

Sunday is the Sabbath day here, so we rested from the training, but the adventures continued. We visited the church of Bishop Philip, who has partnered with Rebuild South Sudan for several years as a community leader and advisor.  They treated us as honored guests. Paul was even invited to preach the sermon! After the service we met Michael Kuany’s uncle, William, pictured here with his wife, Bishop Philip, and some other church members.

Later in the afternoon we were honored by a visit from John Majier, the Coordinator of Development Partners for the Ministry of Education. We were excited to discover some common goals, and to discuss how Rebuild South Sudan can partner with him in the future. He asked the Ministry of Education to include us as part of the Education Cluster for Jonglei State. Paul and Susan will be going to the Education Cluster meeting on September 29th.
